Completing Consultation
This article explains how to complete and save a consult using the Default Configuration, EHR Configuration, & Case Manager Configuration.
To access the eNcounter Summary panel and initiate the process to finalize the consultation, select Write Report in the bottom right corner of the consult screen.
Data Storage (Default Configuration)
eNcounter Summary and Data Upload
- The eNcounter Summary panel displays 4 options:
- New Report – allows users to document SOAP Notes that can be saved and added to the consult report.
- View Report – displays basic patient profile information as well as an overview of the consult.
- eNcounter Info – displays patient profile information as well as allows users to enter the provider’s email address and phone number.
- Finish Consult – proceeds to the consult finalization screen. The user will choose to upload the consult data to the cloud or purge the data and exit.
Data Storage (Configured for EHR)
eNcounter Summary
- The eNcounter Summary panel allows users to access multiple expandable sections that will only be displayed based on what is applicable to that specific consult:
- Visit summary – information related to the current consultation, such as time started, and participants involved in the consult.
- Patient information – information regarding the patient themselves, such as contact information and date of birth.
- Visit notes – notes created during the consultation by either the doctor or consultative user.
- Chief complaints – information regarding the reason for the current consult.
- Vitals – Information regarding the patient’s vitals prior to the start of the consult.
- Images – A record of any images taken by the doctor or consultative user during the consult.
- Reports – Information recorded during the consult, such as ECG interpretations, hearing test results, spirometric reports, etc. These are gathered by the user’s connected medical devices.
- The following destination icons will be displayed when preparing to upload the consult data:
- The information will be successfully transferred to the EHR.
- The information cannot be received by the EHR, but the configured PACS can receive the data and it will be stored there as an alternative.
- The information already exists in the EHR.
- The information cannot be received by the EHR or PACS.
Patient Summary
- Clicking the icon will display the ‘Patient Summary’ panel that allows users to toggle between multiple tabs that display additional patient information.
Summary Preview & Data Upload
- Selecting ‘Upload Summary’ on the Encounter Summary panel will display a final preview of the eNcounter summary info that will be uploaded if the user chooses to proceed.
- To proceed with the data upload and end the consult, select ‘Upload and End Consult’.
- If the “Skip” option is selected when initiating a consultation, an encounter must be selected to successfully complete the consultation and upload the data.
- Select the applicable encounter and click Next to proceed with the data upload and end the consult.
- If there are no encounters available to select, the user must press the “Go Back” button and wait until the relevant encounter session is populated.
Critical Note: Without selecting an encounter the consultation data cannot be saved and uploaded to the configured EHR.
Critical Note: If certain data types (ex: Images) are not uploaded, this is due to an incompatibility with the configured EHR. If you have additional questions, please contact your system administrator.
After the upload is complete, the user will be directed back to the ‘What Would You Like to Do’ screen.
